Soon to be former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber has indicated that the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on his short list of teams that he would like to play for.
“We’re not looking to turn this into an auction,” says Barber. ”There are only a handful of coaches he would want to play for.”
Former Giants and current Las Vegas Locos head coach Jim Fassel has indicated that he would love to have Tiki play on his UFL team.
“Tiki always kept himself in great shape,” Fassel says. “There will definitely be an adjustment period for him to get in the flow of things and getting his body used to being hit again.”
With the current NFL lockout still going on, Barber won’t have as much time to prove himself in training camp this season.
“If they don’t have as much time, starting players are going to get most of the reps,” Fassel says. “There is not going to be a lot of time for guys who need to prove themselves.”
