Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber told The Beast 980 in Los Angeles that he believes head coach Tom Coughlin should be fired after a 3-7 season so far.
“[The Giants players are] not listening to Tom Coughlin anymore,” Barber said, via NJ.com. “As much as we want to pass the buck, ‘Oh, it was the offensive coordinator, let’s get rid of Kevin Gilbride and bring in Ben McAdoo. ‘Oh, now it’s the defensive coordinator, so maybe it’s time to get rid of Perry Fewell. At some point, it trickles uphill and it’s got to be Tom Coughlin’s responsibility. I’ve held off on saying this, but it is time for them to make a change.”
Barber also ripped offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo.
“They have no imagination or no creativity to get things done, which proves to me that they lack confidence in the personnel that they have out there,” Barber said. So as a result they go three jump balls and three incompletions, then Eli throws his fifth interception of the game and that basically seals it … They could have had a win and they let it slip away which has been the case for the last five weeks.”
I actually agree with Barber. It’s time for the Giants to bring in a young head coach as they rebuild on the fly.
