Former New York Giants running back Tiki barber is interested in getting together with Giants head coach Tom Coughlin to try and once and for all bury the hatchet.
According to Barber, Coughlin isn’t interested in meeting with him.
“We tried (to set up a meeting). He said no,” Barber said on ESPN 1050 in New York via the USA Today.
“But one of these days I’m sure it’ll happen, because as we know, time heals all wounds. And I think at the end of the day, Giants fans, despite their dislike of me at times, know that I was one of the guys that put (it) on the line every time I put on my uniform.”
Barber also stated that his comeback attempt is clearly over.
“I’m not trying to come back,” Barber said. “It was an excuse for me to get up off the couch and do something, and it worked, because now I’m engaged in a few different things and I feel really strong about where I am personally, and that’s all that matters in life.”
I can’t say I blame Coughlin for not wanting to meet with Barber right now. He has more important things to worry about right now that his team is two wins away from their second Super Bowl title in five years.
